Seguint amb el degoteig de notícies sobre el tancament de televisions locals catalanes, el passat dia 6 de desembre el diari El Punt-Avui publicava que en data de 15 de desembre deixaria d’emetre Canal Nord, una de les televisions que donava cobertura a l’Alt Empordà, i que era l’hereva de la històrica Televisió de Figueres. Reprodueixo a continuació el contingut de l’article:
Tanca Canal Nord
El 15 de desembre s’acabaran tots els espais de producció pròpia i la intenció és que el senyal s’apagui abans de final de mes. La plantilla és de cinc persones
Canal Nord tanca. La televisió local privada de l’Alt Empordà deixarà d’oferir programes de producció pròpia el dijous 15 de desembre i la intenció és deixar d’emetre el senyal al més aviat possible; com a molt tard, a final de mes. El tancament de la cadena altempordanesa suposarà l’acomiadament de la plantilla, formada per cinc treballadors.
Els seus responsables destaquen l’increment d’audiència que ha tingut Canal Nord –de 1.000 a 16.000 espectadors, segons el baròmetre– des que Produccions Digitals TV –la productora de TV Girona– va assumir-ne la gestió el juny del 2009, però asseguren que la cadena empordanesa “té pèrdues any rere any i,en no ser viable i no poder-se sostenir per ella mateixa, s’ha optat pel tancament”. Així ho assenyala Àlex Martí, director de TV Girona i fins ara també de Canal Nord, que també explica que no s’ha optat per substituir el senyal de Canal Nord pel de TV Girona perquè, de fet, l’emissió de la cadena gironina ja arriba tant a l’Alt Empordà com al Baix Empordà, tot i tenir llicència només per al Gironès i el Pla de l’Estany. “Ja hi arriba i fins ara a vegades es duplicaven programes que s’emetien a tots dos canals alhora.”
Canal Nord oferia actualment sis programes de producció pròpia: dos informatius diaris (migdia i vespre); un espai esportiu, els dilluns; un d’entrevistes, els dimecres; un dedicat als alcaldes, els dijous, i l’espai cultural Queda’t a casa, els divendres. “Ens vam comprometre a fer de TV de proximitat i ho hem complert al 100%”, remarca Martí.
Un canal històric
Canal Nord és una dels canals històrics del país, després de la pionera TV Cardedeu. La primera emissió oficial de TV Figueres va ser el 16 de febrer de 1985. Fa nou anys, l’11 de setembre del 2002, la cadena alt-empordanesa va passar a anomenar-se Canal Nord, iniciant així una nova etapa, en què s’apostava per ampliar l’àmbit supracomarcal, ja que es podia sintonitzar des de bona part de les comarques gironines. Amb el pas a la TDT, va obtenir llicències a l’Alt Empordà i al Baix Empordà, però –com passa amb la majoria de canals locals– en emetre des de Rocacorba es pot sintonitzar també des d’altres llocs.
Buscant solucions per als públics
El CAC i representants de les televisions públiques locals es van reunir ahir per abordar els problemes de sostenibilitat dels canals públics, enmig del degoteig de tancaments. L’últim, anunciat ahir, el de Gavà TV, que deixarà d’emetre per TDT i només penjarà continguts a internet. Entre les solucions estudiades hi ha les aliances entre cadenes públiques i universitats, entre canals públics i privats, i la cooperació entre televisions públiques.
